Join us June 10 for the 2025-2026 season finale of IDEA Talks featuring Jim Teece, a longtime Southern Oregon entrepreneur whose work has helped shape the region’s digital economy, telecommunications infrastructure, and business community. Returning for his first IDEA Talk since 2019, Jim will reflect on the entrepreneurial successes, lessons, and challenges that have emerged over the past several years—and what they reveal about the powerful relationship between entrepreneurship and community building.
Jim is the President and CEO of Project A, the global ecommerce digital agency and software development company he founded with his wife, Dena, in 1990. Over the years, Project A has supported hundreds of organizations and brands, including Dr. Martens, Britt Festival, and Ashland Chamber of Commerce. Jim also leads Ashland Home Net, one of Southern Oregon’s leading internet service providers, helping connect both urban and rural communities through fiber, wireless broadband, and innovative managed home Wi-Fi services.
Beyond technology and ecommerce, Jim’s entrepreneurial reach extends into publishing, manufacturing, tourism, and the arts. He serves as President and CEO of Museum Store Products and helped launch 1000Museums.com, bringing museum-quality reproductions from world-renowned collections into homes around the globe. He is also the publisher of the Southern Oregon Business Journal and creator of community-centered projects such as Today in Ashland and Be A Local Hero.
An innovator, educator, and dedicated civic leader, Jim has broad experience on numerous nonprofit and corporate boards throughout Oregon, including People’s Bank of Commerce, Southern Oregon University Foundation, Southern Oregon Historical Society, and Jefferson Public Radio. His career offers a unique perspective on how entrepreneurial thinking can strengthen local economies, foster community resilience, and create opportunities that extend far beyond business itself.
