What is Leadership Klamath Youth? Leadership Klamath Youth challenges high school students to explore a variety of career opportunities, increase their knowledge about their community (the Klamath County area) and to become actively involved, concerned citizens. Through tours and visits with business owners, community leaders, and elected officials, students will receive an in depth look at the Klamath Basin. What are the goals of the program? •Create the opportunity for high school students to network and develop relationships that promote professional, business and personal growth. •Promote involvement in volunteer community leadership at all levels, including serving on committees and boards, and running for elected office. •Expand participants’ understanding of the importance of strengthening businesses and organizations through community involvement. •Offer opportunities for participants to learn about leadership through interaction with experienced leaders. Selection: Leadership Klamath Youth is open to high school students in the Klamath County School District. Applicants and their schools must be committed to full program participation. The program is limited to participants who are selected to represent a cross-section of our school community and on the basis of their strong level of interest & commitment. Commitment: Participants must be willing to commit the time required to ensure they realize the full benefits of the Leadership Klamath Youth experience.
